The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom features a wide variety of shrine quests that encourage players to observe Hyrule's landscapes from unique perspectives. Among these environmental riddles, The White Bird's Guidance shrine quest stands out as an intriguing puzzle hidden within the snowy peaks of the Hebra region. Completing this challenge rewards adventurers with direct access to the hidden Wao-os Shrine and its valuable prizes.

Starting the Quest in Rito Village

To begin this quest, travel to Rito Village and speak with an NPC named Laissa. She explains that she once spotted a hidden cave entrance marked by a white bird at early morning, but she cannot recall its exact coordinates. This conversation officially logs the quest into your journal and directs your attention to the highest perches of the settlement.

Ascend to the top of Vah Medoh's perch in Rito Village to gain a clear vantage point across the surrounding snowy landscape. Rest at a campfire until morning comes so that the sunlight falls correctly across the terrain.

Locating the White Bird Landmark

Around six in the morning, stand at the edge of the perch and look toward the mountain cliffs situated to the west. As the morning sun rises, a distinct snow formation resembling a soaring white bird becomes visible on the mountain slope.

Using your Purah Pad scope allows you to mark the exact spot where the bird-shaped shadow and snow meet on the cliffside. Once marked, leap off the perch and use your paraglider to glide across Lake Totori toward the designated rock face.

Uncovering the Hidden Cave and Wao-os Shrine

Upon landing on the snow patch that forms the bird shape, look closely at the cliff base to locate a subtle cave opening. This hidden entrance leads directly into West Lake Totori Cave, where the subterranean sanctuary is situated.

Step inside the cavern to discover the Wao-os Shrine resting securely in the subterranean chamber. Exploring the cave also offers extra combat rewards and collectible materials before you tackle the internal trial.

Completing the Shrine Challenges and Collecting Rewards

Inside the Wao-os Shrine, players encounter the Lever Power puzzle that tests catapult mechanics and projectile trajectories. Successfully launching spheres at the targets unlocks the inner chamber, though players can also bypass target puzzles using bomb arrows.

Reaching the end of the shrine rewards Link with a Light of Blessing alongside a chest containing a useful item. Completing this objective clears the quest entirely and provides vital progress toward upgrading health or stamina pools.
